Seeking Skilled laborers. The position involves physical labor to locate utilities, pipe laying and final grading. Experience is preferred but willing to train.

Mobile Repair Mechanic

SWT Excavating, Inc. is seeking a reliable and skilled Mobile Repair Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for performing on-site maintenance and repair of construction equipment and company vehicles. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical repair, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Travel to various job sites to perform repairs and maintenance on construction equipment, trucks, and trailers.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on-site.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, oil changes, tire repairs, fluid checks, and other service needs.
  • Maintain accurate service records and submit work orders or reports in a timely manner.
  • Safely operate company service truck and maintain it in clean, working condition.
  • Communicate repair needs, parts requirements, and estimated timelines with supervisors and equipment operators.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company safety standards and DOT regulations.
  • Assist with emergency repairs as needed to minimize equipment downtime.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Class A CDL license
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in equipment or vehicle maintenance (construction or heavy equipment experience preferred).
  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Basic computer or mobile app skills for completing digital work orders.
